What are we working on?
We are dedicated to healing our land, ourselves, and our relationships with one another. Since the 1967 rebellion, Detroiters and our nation have repeatedly asked: What’s next? We believe the answer lies in creating safe spaces, growing food, and building affordable, universally designed housing and play areas—spaces where all people, with and without disabilities, can reach their fullest potential.
Our approach involves Place-Based Education and Community-Scale Production, guiding the creation of our structures and spaces. Through intergenerational teams of neighbors and community members, we’ve upcycled waste materials into public infrastructure. At the core of our process is the goal of building public trust. To protect our land from the volatility of the open market which reduces life and land to mere quantitative value, we believe that healing must begin with restoring our community’s values.
